Steroids
Steroids, often testosterone-related substances, are abused to enhance physical appearance
and energy by building muscle mass.
Some common terms used to describe steroids are: Juice and 'Roids. Steroids can be taken orally or injected.
Some of the short term effects of steroids are: An increase in lean muscle mass and strength, liver tumors, jaundice, fluid retention, infertility, baldness, paranoid jealousy, extreme irritability, delusions, impaired judgment and feelings of invincibility.
Because steroid abuse is a relatively recent trend, long-term effects of high-dosage abuse are unknown.
